Bent Pixels, Inc. (“Bent Pixels,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use our websites, creator portal, dashboards, applications, and related online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy also explains our use of YouTube API Services and embedded YouTube content. It does not replace any privacy notice provided for employees, job applicants, contractors, or a service governed by a separate written agreement.

1. Who We Are

Bent Pixels, Inc. is the controller or business responsible for the personal information covered by this Privacy Policy, unless a separate notice states otherwise.

2. Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Services and which permissions you grant.

Information You Provide

Contact and account information. Name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, username, password or other authentication information, company, role, and communication preferences.
Creator and business information. Channel and social-media identifiers, professional profile, audience and business information, creator application materials, tax and payment information, contracts, and support requests.
Transaction information. Payment instructions, payout details, invoices, tax forms, and transaction records. Payment providers may collect full payment credentials directly from you.
Content and communications. Messages, feedback, support requests, survey responses, documents, images, videos, audio, comments, and other material you submit.
Event and marketing information. Event registrations, meeting requests, marketing preferences, and information supplied through lead forms.

Information Collected Automatically

Device and network information. IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, device identifiers, language, and approximate location derived from IP address.
Usage information. Pages viewed, links selected, referring pages, dates and times, session activity, feature use, errors, and interactions with emails and advertisements.
Cookie and similar-technology information. Cookie identifiers, pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies. Section 9 explains these tools and your choices.

Information From Other Sources

Platform providers, including Google and YouTube, when you connect an account or authorize access.
Social networks, advertising and analytics providers, data providers, business partners, creators, agencies, advertisers, and publicly available sources.
Affiliates, service providers, fraud-prevention providers, and identity-verification providers.

Sensitive Personal Information

Depending on the Services you use, we may process account credentials, financial account or payment information, precise information needed for payments or tax reporting, and other information treated as sensitive under applicable law. We use sensitive personal information only to provide requested Services, process payments, protect accounts, comply with law, or for other purposes allowed by law. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Services;
create and manage accounts, creator relationships, campaigns, payments, and support;
connect authorized platform accounts and display channel, video, audience, analytics, reporting, and performance information;
communicate about accounts, transactions, service updates, security, and support;
send marketing communications where permitted, and honor opt-out requests;
measure use, diagnose problems, perform analytics, and develop features;
select, measure, and report on media, creator, and advertising campaigns;
protect the Services, users, Bent Pixels, and others from fraud, abuse, security threats, and illegal activity;
enforce agreements, resolve disputes, and protect legal rights;
comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and contractual obligations; and
complete a merger, financing, acquisition, sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar transaction.

We may create aggregated or deidentified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We may use and disclose that information for lawful purposes and will not attempt to reidentify it except as permitted by law.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

If the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

Contract. Processing needed to provide requested Services or take steps before entering a contract.
Legitimate interests. Operating and improving the Services, protecting security, preventing fraud, communicating with business contacts, and supporting our business, when those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent. Processing based on permission you may withdraw, including certain marketing, cookies, connected-account access, and platform actions.
Legal obligation. Processing needed to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or law-enforcement requirements.
Legal claims and vital interests. Processing needed to protect rights, safety, or legal claims.

5. YouTube API Services and Embedded YouTube Content

Use of YouTube API Services

The Services use YouTube API Services. Your use of features that access or use YouTube is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google and YouTube process information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Depending on the feature and permissions you choose, we may access, collect, store, display, or otherwise use:

Google account information, such as name, email address, and profile image;
YouTube channel and content-owner identifiers;
channel, video, playlist, claim, rights-management, thumbnail, and other metadata;
YouTube Analytics API and YouTube Reporting API data;
statistics such as views, watch time, subscribers, engagement, and revenue-related reporting;
actions you expressly ask us to take, such as managing authorized channel information, content, claims, settings, uploads, or reports; and
OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to maintain the authorized connection.

The Google authorization screen identifies the specific data and permissions requested. We request only permissions used by current features. We do not request or store your Google or YouTube password. We use YouTube API Data only for disclosed purposes and within the scope of your authorization.

Authorized Actions and Access

Before taking an action through YouTube API Services, we identify the relevant channel or content owner, the action, and any affected visibility setting when applicable. We take write-based actions only with the user’s specific and express consent. Authorized YouTube data is available only to the authorizing user, Bent Pixels personnel and service providers who need it, and agents the user expressly approves.

Storage, Refresh, and Accuracy

We retain authorization tokens only while needed for the authorized purpose. We refresh or delete YouTube API Data according to YouTube’s storage rules. Unless a longer period is permitted for authorized analytics, reporting, or statistics, we refresh or delete stored YouTube API Data within 30 days. For authorized analytics, reporting, and statistics retained longer, we verify authorization at least every 30 days. We use reasonable efforts to display current YouTube API Data and clearly identify historical data by date.

Revoking Access and Deleting YouTube API Data

You may revoke Bent Pixels’ access through the Google third-party connections page or through any disconnect control offered in the Services. When you revoke access, we promptly revoke the applicable token and delete YouTube API Data stored under that authorization as soon as possible, and no later than seven calendar days, unless law requires retention.

You may also request deletion by emailing info@bentpixels.com with the subject “YouTube Data Deletion.” We delete covered data as soon as possible, and no later than seven calendar days, unless law requires retention.

Deleting data from Bent Pixels does not delete data held by YouTube. To delete content or data from YouTube, use YouTube or another authorized client that supports deletion.

Embedded YouTube Players

Pages containing an embedded YouTube player may share basic device, network, and interaction information with YouTube when the player loads. YouTube may use that information to render a thumbnail and title, determine playability and restrictions, prevent fraud and abuse, and operate the player. Additional information may be shared when playback begins. Where required, we delay nonessential YouTube cookies or player loading until you consent. We do not enable autoplay where doing so would cause data collection before a required consent.

For videos designated “Made for Kids,” we disable tracking as required and configure data collection to comply with applicable children’s privacy laws.

YouTube Content, Images, and Branding

YouTube audiovisual content, thumbnails, logos, icons, and other brand features remain subject to YouTube’s terms, developer policies, and Branding Guidelines. We do not treat access to YouTube API Data as ownership of that content. YouTube-sourced images and thumbnails are displayed only through authorized methods or under a separate valid license. We do not download, cache, rehost, alter, or use YouTube audiovisual content or images beyond the rights granted by YouTube or the applicable rights holder.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

Affiliates. Companies under common ownership or control for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Service providers and contractors. Hosting, cloud, security, analytics, communications, customer support, marketing, identity verification, payment, tax, legal, and professional-service providers.
Platforms and integration partners. Google, YouTube, social platforms, syndication partners, payment networks, and other services you choose to connect or use.
Advertising and analytics partners. Partners that measure use, deliver content or advertising, or help us understand campaign performance, subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights.
Business partners and approved agents. Advertisers, agencies, creators, managers, rights holders, and other parties needed to provide requested Services or whom you direct us to involve.
Authorities and legal recipients. Courts, regulators, law enforcement, counterparties, and advisers when reasonably needed to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect rights and safety, or address fraud and security.
Transaction parties. Prospective or actual buyers, investors, lenders, advisers, and other parties involved in a corporate transaction.
Other parties with your direction or consent.

We may also disclose information you intentionally make public through the Services. Public information can be viewed, collected, and used by others.

7. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We may allow advertising, analytics, and social-media partners to collect identifiers, device information, and internet activity through cookies or similar technologies. Under some U.S. state laws, this activity may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for targeted advertising.

You may opt out through the “Your Privacy Choices” or cookie-settings link in the website footer. We also process legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as required by law. Your choice applies to the browser and device from which you submit it. You may need to repeat it on other browsers or devices.

We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of people under 16 without the affirmative authorization required by law.

8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

know whether we process your personal information;
access or receive a copy of personal information;
correct inaccurate personal information;
delete personal information;
obtain portable personal information;
restrict or object to certain processing;
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing;
opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive personal information;
appeal a denial of a privacy request; and
lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

To exercise a right, email info@bentpixels.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” You may also use available account, disconnect, deletion, cookie, or privacy-choice controls.

We may verify your request by asking for information reasonably needed to confirm your identity and relationship with us. We use verification information only for that purpose. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We may ask for proof of authority and may ask you to confirm the request directly. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will explain the basis and any available appeal process.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We do not offer financial incentives for personal information unless separately disclosed under applicable law.

Marketing

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in each message or by contacting us. You may still receive service, security, legal, and transaction messages.

California Shine the Light

California residents may request information about certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes under California Civil Code section 1798.83. Send requests to info@bentpixels.com.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our partners use:

Strictly necessary technologies for security, authentication, preferences, and core site functions.
Functional technologies to remember settings and provide enhanced features.
Analytics technologies to measure traffic, use, performance, and campaign results.
Advertising technologies to measure advertising and, where permitted, provide relevant or targeted advertising.
Embedded-content technologies used by YouTube and other platforms to display and operate media.

Where required by law, nonessential technologies remain disabled until you provide consent. You can accept, reject, or change nonessential cookie choices through our cookie banner or cookie-settings link. Withdrawing consent does not affect prior lawful processing. Browser settings may also block cookies, but some Services may not work correctly.

For more detail about current cookies, providers, purposes, and durations, see our Cookie Policy. Cookie inventories change as our Services change. The Cookie Policy and consent manager should reflect the technologies actually in use.

10. California Notice at Collection

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information under California law:

identifiers;
customer-record information;
characteristics of protected classifications, if voluntarily provided or legally required;
commercial and transaction information;
internet or other electronic-network activity;
approximate geolocation;
audio, electronic, visual, or similar information;
professional or employment-related information;
inferences drawn from other information; and
sensitive personal information, including account credentials and financial information used for payments.

We collect these categories from the sources described in Section 2. We use them for the purposes described in Sections 3 and 5. We disclose them to the recipients described in Section 6. We retain them under Section 11.

For California purposes, we may have “sold” or “shared” identifiers and internet or electronic-network activity with advertising, analytics, or social-media partners through cookies and similar technologies. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of people under 16. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information.

11. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing Services, maintaining records, complying with legal and contractual duties, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and enforcing agreements.

Retention periods depend on the type of information, the relationship, user choices, legal requirements, security needs, and applicable platform rules. When retention is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate the information. YouTube API Data is also subject to the specific periods and deletion rules in Section 5.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures include access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, vendor controls, and incident-response processes appropriate to the information and risks involved.

No system is completely secure. Protect your account credentials and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

13. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States and may process information in countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.

When required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, contractual protections, and supplementary measures. You may contact us for information about applicable safeguards.

14. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us. We will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Some creators or content displayed through the Services may appeal to younger audiences. That fact alone does not make the Services child-directed. We comply with COPPA and applicable youth-privacy laws when we know a feature or audience requires additional protections.

15. Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may link to or integrate with websites, platforms, applications, and services we do not control. Their privacy practices govern their processing. Review their notices before providing information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services.

16. Automated Decision-Making

We may use automated tools to organize information, detect fraud, support brand-suitability review, recommend creators or content, and assist campaign analysis. We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about individuals unless we provide required notice and rights.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services, practices, platform rules, or law. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. If a material change expands how we access, collect, or use authorized YouTube API Data, we will obtain renewed acceptance or consent as required.
